Permanent Makeup Procedure.
Note:
Please allow an extra 10-20 minutes to fill out a medical and client questionnaire and a consultation.
PRE-PROCEDURE INFORMATION
|
|
|
-
Please refrain from the use of aspirin, aspirin-containing
medications, or alcohol prior to your procedure. Refrain from judgment
altering drugs for at least 24 hours prior to any procedure. No medication
should be discontinued without first consulting your physician.

|
POST -PROCEDURE INFORMATION
|
|
|
-
Lashes or Brows: "Sticking together" in the morning, or
small amounts of pigment "coming off" with Vaseline application. Apply
Vaseline or an ointment like A&D lightly to the pigmented area at
least twice a day for 2 days, then nightly for one week
|
***
The use of antibiotic ointments should be avoided due to the higher incidences
of allergies to
these products unless you know that you are not allergic
to them..
AVOID:
-
The use of soaps, facial cleansers or makeup removal products
for 5 days. Applying makeup to the pigmented area for 7 days.
-
Rubbing the pigmented area vigorously when washing your face
for the first month after a procedure.
-
Scratching or picking away any crust on pigmented area until
fully healed -early removal of any crust may result in areas with insufficient
pigment.
-
Sunbathing or tanning booths that result in direct exposure to
the pigmented area. Swimming in chlorinated pools or hot tubs until healed.
-
Exposure to the full pressure of the water in a shower for 1
week.
-
Using Retin A or other chemical peels over the pigmented area
in the future.
-
Lips tend to be very dry after the procedure for the first few
days and a "chap lip feeling" occurs. Please keep them very moist with
Vaseline or A&D ointment and a Lip Protector SPF 15 until complete
healing has occurred. At day 2 to 3 of the healing phase, "peeling" occurs.
Do not peel off the
pigment, let it naturally come off.
The lip liner will take longer to "peel" than the full lip
color. The color will appear lighter and almost "disappears" during this
phase. During the next few weeks the color will intensify and complete
retention realized at 1 month.
HELPFUL HINT FOR LONG TERM CARE OF YOUR
PROCEDURE:
The use of a good sunscreen product is highly recommended for
all procedures due to fading factors of the sun, especially for lips due to
potential photosensitivity of red pigment.
If your thinking of
having your lips done please read below!
LIP PROCEDURE --- PLEASE READ!
Lip liner/Full Lip Color Medication
If you have ever (and I do mean ever even if it was once
when you were a child) had a cold sore, or fever blister in the past, you harbor
the herpes simplex virus within your body. Every person is different in their
activity of this virus. Some may have frequent outbreaks, and some may have only
had one or two outbreaks a long time ago, nevertheless, the virus is still
harbored within your body. The lipliner/full lip color procedure may
cause an outbreak in some individuals who have this virus. Therefore you are
advised to acquire the below mentioned medication, prior to your procedure, to
alleviate the possibility of an outbreak. This is an optional medication and
Facial Dermagraphics does not hold any liability regarding its use or nonuse for
prevention of cold sorest fever blisters. Please notify your physician that you
are considering cosmetic tattooing regarding this matter before coming in for a
lip procedure.
It is highly recommended if you request one of
these anti-viral medications from your Physician:
-
Zovirax (Acyclovir)
-
Famvir
-
Valtrex
You will need to take the prescribed dosage of one
medication for five (5) consecutive days. Begin by taking the pills two (2) days
before your lip procedure, the same day as your procedure and two (2) days
following your lip procedure.
Remember: Each of these medications has a different
dosage, so please check with your physician regarding adequate dosing and
administration. If you have any questions, please let me know and please tell
your doctor that you are having permanent cosmetics done on your lips.
Failure to take the medications could or will result in a fever
blister outbreak.
